Bhupen Bora has no moral right to criticize BJP led Assam Govt: State BJP

STAFF REPORTER, Guwahati, July 12: "Congress President Bhupen Bora can forget but people of Assam will never forget how anarchy and mayhem prevailed during Congress regime with killings, rape, theft, burglary, encroachment of land belonging to indigenous people, giving safeguard to criminals, rampant corruption and syndicate raj. Congress has no moral right to criticize the BJP led government which is committed to combating crimes with an iron hand." This was stated by BJP spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi. In a press statement issued to media persons today from party headquarters in Hengrabari, Gogoi said our government is committed to the people of Assam for making society free from crime and criminals. People of this state have witnessed how the present government is working relentlessly towards eradicating the menace of drugs, rape and other forms of violence from the society, besides showing empathy and concern for the common man. 'The recent incident of protestor Birinchi Bora of Nagaon who acted the role of Lord Shiva is a classic example,' Gogoi added. The spokesperson said that under the bold and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state is marching ahead on the path of development towards becoming one of the five major States of the country.Towards this end, the state government is always in the service of the state and its people. The spokesperson further said no matter Bhupen Bora tries to give a clean chit to the Congress, people of Assam are aware that it was during the Congress rule, crime reached its peak while on the other hand, during the present BJP led government how the rate of crimes have gone down.This is a great achievement of the present government which has ushered in peace and stability in the state.
