ATASU to observe central foundation day in North Lakhimpur

STAFF REPORTER, North Lakhimpur, July 6: All Tai Ahom Students' Union (ATASU) is going to observe its 35th Central Foundation Day in association with ATASU Lakhimpur district committee with a two-day long programme at Syu-Ka-Pha Samannoy Kshetra, Petukajan, North Lakhimpur on July 14 and 15 next. On the first day, a plantation drive and Ban-Fee ceremony will be held. On the second day, the organizational flag will be unfurled by ATASU Central Committee president Litul Burhagohain which will be followed by swahid tarpan and garlanding of Syu-Ka-Pha's portrait. Thereafter, Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka will inaugurate the Tai Culture and Research Centre. In the inauguration ceremony, Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah and Lakhimpur DC Sumit Sattawan will also present. The open meeting of the Foundation Day will be inaugurated by ATASU Central Committee founder president Pramod Baruah and will be presided over by Litul Burhagohain. ATASU founder secretary Arun Gogoi and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) chairman Rukma Gohain Baruah will take part in the meeting as the chief guest and the appointed speaker respectively. The celebration committee requested the people to participate in all the programmes of both the days and make the event a great success.
