International Day of Yoga 2022 observed at Lakhimpur Commerce College

STAFF REPORTER, North Lakhimpur, June 21: International Yoga Day was observed today at Lakhimpur Commerce College, North Lakhimpur along with the rest of the world. On this occasion, a yoga session was organized by the Women Cell of Assam College Teachers Association (ACTA) Unit of the college, Mental and Physical Wellness Cell, NSS unit and Alumni Cell of the college in association with Vivekananda Kendra,North Lakhimpur. The yoga session was inaugurated by Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of the college. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Hazarika spoke about "Yoga for Humanity," the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day. Students and teachers from the college participated in the yoga session which was conducted by Dr. Biren Kalita, retired professor of Hindi Department and an official from the Vivekananda Kendra, North Lakhimpur and Indreswar Bora, director of NE Yogashan Kendra. Karuna Chawra, a student of the college also conducted the yoga session among the students on the occasion. The yoga day event was coordinated by Dr. Manjumani Saikia, Dr. Harini Patowary Das, Dr Rupjyoti Bhattacharjee and Bahnisikha Bordoloi.
