BSF apprehended drug trafficker: seized 9800 Yaba tablets

Guwahati, Sept 30: Maintaining the drive against Narcotics smuggling, on September 29 last, the vigilant troops under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one drug trafficker alongwith  9800 Yaba tablet on Indo-BD Border which was trying to be smuggled to Bangladesh. On specific input, on September 29, a Joint Special operation was carried out by the troops of 06 Bn of FTR HQ Guwahati with Police of Mankachar and apprehended one drug trafficker alongwith 9800 Yaba tablet worth Rs. 49,00,000/-, near village - Kushnimara, under Mankachar police station of South Salmara Mankachar district on Indo-BD Border. The Apprehended drug traffickers and seized items have been handed over to Police Station Mankachar for further legal action. Keeping in view of the vulnerability of the border, heightened activities of drug traffickers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes including drug trafficking & illegal  trans-border crimes and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes.
