Basugaon, July 28: The Kokrajhar forest department as well as Salakati police and CRPF conducted a joint operation at Nayasara village under Salakati police station in Kokrajhar district this afternoon. Assam police sources said the team of poachers managed to demolish an illegal saw mill during the operation. The Kokrajhar forest department seized wood worth lakhs of rupees in collaboration with the police from the wood mill uprooted during the operation but three persons involved in the illegal saw mill managed to escape from the spot namely Golbar, Sahidul and Rafikul respectively. Police have already launched an investigation and recovered the seized wood.
