Bajali, 28 July: The Assam Government took the decision to observe “Deshbhakti Divas” to mark the death anniversary of Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan on this day every year with a view to generate more awareness among people about the life and ideals of the great freedom fighter and to inspire the youth with nationalistic fervour. Bajali district authority also organized a programme in this regards today at conference hall of deputy commissioner’s office. The program was inaugurated by lighting of lamps by Deputy Commissioner of Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury. The deputy commissioner stated in his lecture that the purpose of observing this day will be fulfilled when the young generation can realize the working of Tarun Ram Phukan and his patriotism and sacrifice. District officials attended the programme maintaining all the Covid protocol.
