NLFB Chief M Batha To Surrender Today In Udalguri

National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) chief M Batha with his cadres will surrender before the Assam Police on Thursday.

As per sources, the NLFB extremist along with other cadres of the Bodo outfit will surrender at Laopani Outpost, Mazbat under Udalguri district.

Batha and the cadres are currently camping in Arunachal Pradesh, where a team of Special Branch officials from the State police have rushed to the neighboring state to take them up.

Batha, who was previously a member of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), returned to the forest to form the NLFB one year after the outfit was disbanded by the signing of the third Bodo peace accord in January 2020.

He joined NDFB in 1996 and was trained in Bhutan.

Batha was declared as ‘most wanted’ recently by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and has also announced a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on him.
