Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary Visited Golaghat : Reviewed Covid Situation and Jal Jeevan Mission Works



Golaghat,  Jul 24:  State Commerce and Industries Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary today visited Golaghat and reviewed the Covid situation in the district.  He also monitored the ongoing works of Jal Jeevan Mission. The Minister attended a review meeting at the Conference Hall of Circuit House Golaghat and expressed his satisfaction regarding improvement of Covid situation in the district and ordered the administration and police force to take strict measures against violation of Covid protocols . Patowary also reviewed and monitored the Jal Jeevan Mission works in Golaghat and ordered the Public Health Department authorities to ensure that each and every family will get pipe water supply within March next year.  He stated that Jal Jeevan Mission is one of the flagship programmes of the Narendra Modi led central government and Assam Chief Minister has given more emphasis on successful implementation of the same in the state . Under this Mission one lakh families in Golaghat will be covered at first . Later the remaining families will also be covered phase wise . On the other hand the minister ordered the PHE department to take steps for irrigation in the drought hit Sarupathar region. Talking to the media CM Patowary said that the restrictions in Golaghat district will be gradually relaxed seeing the Covid positivity rate in the district in the upcoming days.  Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan,  Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat Mrigesh Narayan Baruah,  Superintendent of Police Dr Robin Kumar along with several other officials from district administration and heads of various government departments were present in the meeting.
