NAGAON, July 31: District Unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) and the employees of Bishal Mega Mart today were locked from outside due to not paying the salary of the employees regularly for several months by the proprietor concerned. The employees of the concerned business establishment along with the members from the students' organization today assembled in front of Bishal Mega Mart situated at Nagaon Itachali in the town and staged a strong protest against the exploitation by the management of the establishment and thereafter locked it from outside by downing its shatter. During the stir, the employees and other protesters from the students' organization shouted various slogans against the management and demanded to release the salary of the employees as early as possible.
Addressing the gathering at the site of protest, Deep moni Bora and Pragjyotish Bonia, respectively the president and secretary of the district unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) said that the businessmen from outside the state must change their mindset and what they exactly thought about the Assamese youths as slaves, should rectify as soon as possible. If they fail to do so, the other commercial establishments owned by them would be shut down tomorrow as it is done at Nagaon today, the leadership of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad added further. The organization warned the management of Bishal Mega Mart that if the management would fail to release the salaries and other payments before Monday next, the concerned establishment would face a massive untoward situation even at the establishment. Significantly, the management concerned of Bishal Mega Mart finally assured the agitators as well as the district unit of the students' organization that the management would pay the pending dues to the employees on or before Monday next, a release issued by AJYCP added.
