BHB College Celebrates 55th Foundation Day; ISBN Book “Drishtikone” Unveiled

Staff Reporter, Bajali: BHB College commemorated its 55th Foundation Day on July 1 with a vibrant celebration filled with tributes, academic reflection, and cultural expression. The celebrations began with a morning plantation drive on the college campus. This was followed by a floral tribute in memory of all those associated with the college since its inception in 1971 who are no longer with us. An open session was held as part of the programme, presided over by Dr. Nayan Jyoti Das, Principal of BHB College. In his welcome address, Dr. Das reflected on the college’s five-decade journey, acknowledging the challenges faced and the institution’s steadfast commitment to academic and social development. He emphasized a future vision rooted in excellence, inclusivity, and innovation. The event was graced by Dr. Achyut Chandra Das, Chairman of the Governing Body, and Dr. Kaushik Kumar Deka, Principal of Nirmal Haloi College, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present on the dais were Dr. Dipti Kalita, Vice-Principal, and Dr. Dipul Talukdar, IQAC Coordinator. The session was anchored by Dr. Preeti Rekha Dutta, Assistant Professor. The central academic moment of the day was the unveiling of the ISBN book “Drishtikone”, edited by Prabodh Kalita and Dr. Preeti Rekha Dutta. Chief Guest Dr. Deka released the book and praised the college’s commitment to fostering a strong academic culture through original publications and collaborative scholarship. The celebration concluded with a colourful cultural programme featuring performances by faculty, and staff. The day-long event served not only as a tribute to the past 55 years but also as a reaffirmation of BHB College’s mission for the future.
