Staff Reporter, Bajali: In a poignant tribute to the brave soldiers safeguarding the nation’s borders, a Maha Vishnu Yajna was held in Assam’s Baksa district, drawing a large number of local residents and spiritual devotees. The event, rooted in tradition and patriotism, was organized to pray for the well-being and continued success of India's armed forces. Bhawanipur MLA Phanidhar Talukdar took part in the yajna, offering his prayers and emphasizing the need for unwavering support to the security personnel stationed at the country’s frontlines. Speaking at the gathering, Talukdar highlighted the sacrifices made by soldiers and called upon citizens to stand in solidarity with the armed forces. Alongside the religious observance, the MLA also initiated a series of developmental projects in the region. As part of his commitment to improving infrastructure in the Manah constituency, Talukdar laid foundation stones for new auditorium halls in four locations—Labdanguri, Barapeta, Gati, and Saudorbitha. The total project is valued at Rs 50 lakh, with each hall allotted a budget of Rs 12 lakh. These facilities are expected to serve as vital spaces for community and cultural engagement. Several party workers, community leaders, and well-wishers accompanied the MLA throughout the day-long programme, marking the occasion as both a spiritual and developmental milestone for Baksa district.
