Massive Eviction Drive in Gopal Ata Satra

A Correspondent, Bajali, June 10: The Bajali district administration conducted an eviction drive, reclaiming 33 bighas of Gopal Ata Satra of Assam’s Bajali district on June 10. A section of individuals had illegally occupied around 33 bighas of land for the last many years. Notably, the district administration had intimated the families residing there in the form of notices, the latest being a week back, before conducting the eviction drive with the help of bull-dozers and excavators amid tight security. The Executive Magistrate, Additional Commissioner of the district administration, Security personnel, including a team of Assam police and CRPF personnel, have been deployed in the area as a precautionary drill.
