Anti-child marriage drive in Chirang: arrested 10

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, October 3: In the anti-child marriage drive that has been going on since night, the Chirang police have already arrested a total of 10 including 8 grooms and 2 fathers involved in child marriage from various police station areas of the district. As per information From Bijni Police Station area - 2, Panbari Police Station - 2, Amguri Police Station - 2 Runikhata Police Station - 2, Basugaon Police Station- 1 and Kajalgaon Police Station - 1 have been arrested till now. The Drive has been constantly going on by Assam Police. A total 254 people arrested accross the state in cases related to child marriage.
