Magisterial inquiry ordered over Ashwini Thakuria death case

Staff Reporter, Bajali, September 27: Mridul Kumar Das, the Additional Commissioner of Bajali announced an magisterial inquiry on September 27 into the death case of the retired Assam police personnel Ashwini Thakuria, who fell in an open footpath right in the centre in the Pathsala town on September 26. After the incident Tahbildar was seriously injured and immediately rushed to a local hospital in a critical condition, but the doctor declared him dead. The tragic incident itself raises some questions about the negligence of the Pathsala Municipal Board. Local residents were prompted to take to the streets to protest against. Local residents expressed their outreach for failing to address the safety hazard despite repeated complaints. It may be recalled that the 74 years old Tahbildar is a retired sub inspector of Assam and resided in the Lachit Nagar. An engineer named Jatin Talukdar is responsible for the incident. Magistrate Urmi Medhi will lead the inquiry.
