Automated wheelchair presented to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, August 4: Naharkatia MLA Taranga Gogoi presented an automated wheelchair to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah at his residence at Beltola here on August 4. After receiving the automated wheelchair Baruah became overwhelmed and welcomed the initiative taken by the MLA. Arjun Baruah had been facing a lot of difficulties for a long period of time. MLA Taranga Gogoi wished for a speedy recovery of the iconic athlete. It is to be mentioned that Bhogeswar Baruah is an Indian former-athlete and coach. He was one of the first Assamese to win gold at an international event, winning a He gold medal in an 800-metre running event at the 1966 Asian Games. He also won a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay in the 1970 Asian games.
