Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Award 2023 conferred to Raveena Tandon

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, July 19: Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon conferred the Bhupen Hazarika Award 2023 by Beltola Bohagi Utsav Samiti at her own residence Nilay Apartment, Bandra in Mumbai. A delegates lead by Samiti’s general secretary Sanjay Goswami, cultural secretary Jayanta Gogoi, Petrons Ratul Barua and Rajesh Kempra conferred the award to Tandon. The committee announced to honour the actress at Beltola Bohagi Utsav, 2023 celebration which was held April 20 to 22 last in Beltola, Guwahati. But due to some unavoidable reasons actress Raveena Tandon wasn't able to attend the event. It is to be mentioned that Raveena Tandon was closely associated with Bhupen Hazarika. She played the protagonist in Kalpana Lajmi’s film Daman in 2001. Raveen played the role of Durga Saikia which brought her the national award for best actress. Bhupen Hazarika composed the music for the film. The award carries Rs 2 lakh cash, a memento, a citation and a shawl.
