Cultural workshop concludes at Rangachakuwa

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, February 20: A seven-day workshop on the folk dance of the Gorkha community organised by the Muradol Gorkha Unnayan Samiti, North Jamuguri concluded today at Rangachakuwa. The cultural workshop that was held in the community hall of Rangachakuwa centre was attended by more than five hundred participants from the adjoining villages of the North Jamuguri. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika attended the valedictory function today and presented certificates of participation. Addressing the concluding ceremony as a chief guest MLA Hazarika said that the Gorkhas are an inseparable part of the greater Assamese society and the young generation people should come forward for preservation and conservation of their own cultural aspects. Folk artiste Binod Khanal imparted training as a resource person.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Lakhi Kanta Bora, president of Sootea Anchalik Panchayat, Kishor Dahal, ZPC member, Dipak Newar, president of Uttar Muradol GP, Bulu Ahmed, social worker besides other dignitaries.
