Elephant killed after being hit by train in Palasbari

Staff Reporter, Palasbari, December 8: In yet another tragic accident involving wildlife along the railway lines, an elephant (22) died after being hit by a train at Rangamati under Palasbari LAC in Assam’s Kamrup district. One wild elephant dashed against the Guwahati-Bongaigaon Express at around 10 pm last night. It may be mentioned here that a herd of wild elephants have been causing havoc in the area for the past few days, destroying paddy fields and damaging houses and crops.
