Staff Reporter,
Kakopather, September 10: Kakopather Daily Market which has an yearly auction of twelve to fourteen lakhs and that falls under the management of Tinsukia Zila Parishad and Kakopathar Anchalik Panchayat is seen lacking work on development and sanitary for which it has transformed to look like a municipal garbage dump yard rather than a daily market. Therefore a team of officials of Kakopather Press Club and Kakopather Regional Student Union had submitted memorandums to the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia District and to the Chief Executive Officer of Tinsukia Zila Parishad twice i.e. on July 26 & 13 last respectively, but no action is seen taken till now. The memorandum contained a few demands by the club and the union to take strict action against the ill issues of the market. Their main demand is to make the daily market of Kakopather clean as soon as possible which has already transformed to a garbage dump yard , including the area where the bazar committee tolls taxes from the vendors and hawkers. They have also urge the administration to set a strict law towards the market to keep it clean , healthy and hygiene permanently as Kakopather Higher Secondary School is beside the daily market and the dirt and smell of the garbage has created a question towards the health of the students including the public of Kakopather shopping and marketing in the daily market. The other demand is to evict the illegally established public houses under the area of the market allotment and many more. But no action by the District Administration and Market committee was taken for which Kakopathar Press Club along with other union bodies observed a two hour sit-in at Kakopathar Daily Bazar demanding to resolve various issues pertaining to Kakopathar Daily Market and Weekly Market. Officials of The Kakopathar Press Club and other union bodies clearly mention the ill management of the district administration as their ignorance regarding the memorandums has compelled them to stage sit in protest. They have also submitted another memorandum to the deputy commissioner through the circle officer of Doom Dooma Revenue Circle demanding disposals of the garbage and proper drainage , opening of multipurpose market complex, storehouse and toilet, eviction of illegally constructed houses in the market, and proper infrastructural development of the market so as to create a way to the unemployed youths after construction of the market. Moreover Kakopathar Press Club clearly mentioned that if no action is taken within half a month ,a grievous protest will be carried out along with all the union bodies of Kakopather.
