Engineers Day : IIE organized workshop on “Skilling and Entrepreneurship”

News Desk, Agartala, September 15: On the momentous occasion of “Engineer’s Day” the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship(IIE), Guwahati, an autonomous organization under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, has organized a workshop on “Skilling and Entrepreneurship” for Engineers and the technically qualified youths at the Visvesvaraya Auditorium, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala on September 14. The objective of the workshop is to create awareness about the significance of “Skilling and Entrepreneurship” and its relevance in technological sector in present day and its scopes and opportunities associated with technological entrepreneurship. Topics on “Social Enterprises Marketing”, factors involved in the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in academics and the various schemes and support for students was highlighted in the workshop. Dignitaries Supriti Chakraborty, Project Coordinator of Skill Development Department, Government of Tripura, Dr Suman Deb, Professor NIT, Dr Anirban Dutta, Professor NIT, Shibendu Debbarma, Addl. Director of Software Technology Parks of India(STPI), Prasanta Goswami, Associate Faculty Member of IIE graced the occasion with their presentation and gave their insightful inputs as key speaker in the program.The speakers highlighted about the start-up ecosystem and its avenues in context to present market, the scopes associated with skilling in technical stream and the institutional support given to entrepreneurs. Prasanta Goswami, Faculty, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship gave an introductory speech on the occasion and was one of the key speakers in the workshop. While addressing the gathering he provided information on various schemes and programs implemented by IIE, he also emphasized about the upcoming events of IIE on Drone Application, collaboration with Electronic Sector Skill Council of India to implement more market suited technical skilling programs.In the discussion session, he highlighted about the incubations of IIE which can be utilized by technical students for skilling and shared the foresight about the technical students. More than 300 students and engineers attended the program from various technical institutes namely National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tripura Institute of Technology, ICFAI University, Khumlung Polytechnic College, Girls’ Polytechnic College, even the PG and PhD. scholars of (NIT) attended the program. An interactive session was arranged between the participants and speakers for doubt clearance and opportunistic discussion.
