Adivasi Peace Accord celebrated in Chirang

Staff Reporter, Chirang, September 16: The historic agreement ended on September 15 to meet the long-standing demands of adivasis. No ethnic group should be afraid of the historic agreement with eight armed organizations of the backward and oppressed tribal community. Akma chairman Jabrias Khakha alias Asim Hasda said that the agreement without causing any harm to any ethnic group will contribute to the creation of a greater Assam. He thanked the Prime Minister of India, the Home Minister and the Chief Minister of Assam for taking the lead in the historic Tribal Agreement. The agreement will fulfill a lot of aspirations of the adivasis though tribalisation is the main demand of the adivasis. The demand for tribalisation will be fulfilled one day in a phased manner. Expressing this hope, Akma Deputy Chief of Army Staff Chunda Hasda, BCF Chairman Tirku Tudu and UPPER Chairman Mangal Hasda thanked the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The reception ceremony held at Champavati Bazar ground under Sidli police station of Chirang district arrived much later than the scheduled time but in the midst of utmost enthusiasm, the tribal culture group welcomed the signatories of the agreement with dance and song. Various party leaders and workers of Adivasis were present on the occasion.
