Social activist Niru Saikia passes away

Bureau Report, Nagaon, August 16: Niru Saikia, a resident of Nagaon Uttar Haiborgaon and a noted social activist breathed her last at her residence after a brief illness here on Monday last. She was 89. She was involved in Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Binapani Bihu Somitee for a long time. She was felicitated by Sodou Nagaon Bhugali Bihu Udjapon Somitee last year for her tremendous services towards the society. She leaves behind three sons, three daughters and a host of relatives. Her demise has cast a pall of gloom in the greater Uttar Haiborgaon area.
