Biswanath Chariali, August 16: Dr. Chinta Mani Sharma, principal of Biswanath College on Monday received the certificate of Tobacco Free Educational Institution on behalf of Biswanath College from Munindra Nath Nagatey, the deputy commissioner of Biswanath. This certificate of appreciation was issued on behalf of the National Health Mission, Assam, district Health Society, Biswanath and district Tobacco Control Cell, Biswanath. Notably, there are no Tobacco selling points within the radius of 100 meters and the college is actively involved in eradicating the menace of Tobacco. Further, Biswanath College has also been recognised as a member of the academic impact institute of the UN. It is to be mentioned here that the Biswanath district administration had felicitated a total of 39 persons and institutions for their special contributions towards upliftment of the society on Monday evening.
