Foundation Day-Freshers' Social of LTK College held

Staff Reporter, North Lakhimpur, August 25: The 45th Foundation Day and the Freshers' Social-2022 of Lakhimpur Telahi Kamalabori (LTK) College,Azad, North Lakhimpur were held at the college on Monday. According to the programme, the college flag was unfurled by the Principal of the college Dr. Bubul Kumar Saikia and the Swahid Tarpan was done by the Vice-principal of the college Bidyut Chutia which were followed by the lit of the lamp of the Foundation Day. Then, an intimate interaction was held among the newcomer students and the students who are studying in the college. The open meeting started at 11 a.m. under the presidentship of the Principal of the college Dr. Bubul Kumar Saikia and the meeting was inaugurated by the President of the college governing body Dr. Amiya Rajbongshi. In the meeting, the auditorium, multipurpose gym and inter-sports stadium-yoga center of the college were named after by college governing body founder president late Indreswar Sarma and founder secretary late Kumud Sarma respectively, and the family members of both the late persons were felicitated. The retired teachers and employees of the college were also felicitated in the meeting. The chief guest of the meeting, Professor of the Department of Assamese in Dibrugarh University Dr. Pallavi Deka Bujarbaruah released the book in the meeting titled 'Grantha Bithika' edited by Juli Gohain Neog and Dr. Binita Chaharia under the aegis of the publication cell of the college. In her lecture as the chief guest, Dr. Pallavi Deka Bujarbaruah gave a fruitful one to the students. Attending as the invited guests, retired Vice-principal of LTK College Dr. Hamidur Rahman and retired professor of Lakhimpur Commerce College Naren Sarma delivered lectures in the meeting. LTK College Vice-principal Bidyut Chutia, retired professor Dr. Bina Saikia and professor Diganta Saikia also lectured in the meeting. After completion of the meeting, a cultural event was held which was followed by the lit of the lamp in the evening, and with this, the day-long programme of the Foundation Day and Freshers' Social came to an end.
