Award distribution ceremony for healthy children held in Lakhimpur

Staff Reporter, North Lakhimpur, August 25: Under the aegis of Lakhimpur district administration and District Social Welfare Department, an award distribution ceremony for healthy children was held at the conference hall of the office of Lakhimpur DC, North Lakhimpur yesterday. A total number of ten healthy children from the Anganwadi Centres(ACs) under the ten ICDS projects of Lakhimpur district who were identified by all types of health check-up were awarded along with their guardians in the event by Lakhimpur DC Sumit Sattawan,ADC Monurama Morang and District Social Welfare Officer (I/C) Mustafa Salim Ahmed. The awarded children were Preeti Kongkona Saikia (Uriumpur AC,Bihpuria ICDS project),Debajit Malah(Ahubari AC,Karunabari ICDS project),Quinachi Hazarika (Bapakhat AC, Nowboicha ICDS project),Bedanas Kashyap (Gorumuria AC, Lakhimpur ICDS project),Gitartha Das(Bahpati Purani Gaon AC,Telahi ICDS project), Nanda Kumar Narah(Kulabali AC,Boginadi ICDS project),Abhisikha Chutiya(Kekuri Madhupur AC,Ghilamora ICDS project), Rajlakhi Chutiya (Pachim Hiloidhari AC, Dhakuakhana ICDS project),Rahim Kutum(Namani Karpungpuli AC, Bordoloni ICDS project) and Anaya Borah(Boralikota Shiva Ashram AC, Narayanpur ICDS project). Notably, under the effort of the CM of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a decision has been taken that one child from the each Anganwadi Centre under the ICDS projects of every district in Assam would be awarded as a healthy child to promote mass awareness for the development of nutrition-level of every child in the society, and today's ceremony was a part of that decision.
