Nagaon, August 17: Along with the rest of the state, the district body of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today staged a strong sit in protest against the recent state government's decision to teach subjects like Mathematics and Science in English medium from Class III standard across the state here in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon. Over hundred protesters from the youths organization participated in the stir and also criticized the BJP led state alliance government for its fatal decision. During the protest, the participants shouted various slogans against the decision of the government and demanded scrapping the fatal move at any point. Besides, the participants also demanded to provide education and learning to all only in the medium of mother language which is scheduled in national education policy. The protesters warned that if the government would not scrap its decision in this regard, they would go for massive protests against it in the days to come. Noted Assamese litterateur and short stories teller Sibananda Kakoti, state joint secretary of the organization Bipul Bora, district president of AJYCP Pragjyotish Bonia, finance secretary Hemanta Das, former district president of the organization Deepmoni Bora were among those who took part in the stir and criticized the recent fatal decision of the state government, a release added.
