Villagers allegedly burnt down a youth alive in Nagaon

HARESWAR BORA, Nagaon, July 9: Sensation prevailed here at the greater Barhampur Bamuni areas in the district after a youth named Ranjit Bordoloi of Borlalungaon near Barhampur Bamuni under Samaguri PS was burnt down alive this evening for reasons unknown by a mob following a gram sabha and his body was buried in a secret place of the village, sources added. Why he was burnt down alive by the mob is still a paradox for all, sources said, adding that a meeting was held there in the village just before the gruesome act. Meanwhile, senior officials of Nagaon police administration, the local Samaguri PS as well as Puranigudam Outpost rushed to the village and tried to spot the exact location of the gruesome incident till the time of filing this report, sources added further. SP, Nagaon - Leena Doley while speaking to this correspondent here, said that she received information in this regard and local police from Samaguri PS as well as Puranigudam Outpost rushed to the village and were trying to spot the location of the incident. She however said police are yet to confirm the incident as the body of the victim has not been recovered. All will come out just after recovery of the body, she added.
