Nagaon, July 10: The North East Regional Centre of National Fishery Development Board, Guwahati and members of 'Ankur Minpalon Samobai Somitee' today jointly observed the 22nd National Fish Farmers' Day with a day long programmes here at Nagaon Rahdhola pothar near Kakomari village. During the programme, the members of Ankur Minpalon Samobai Somitee, its chief executive officer and the incharge head of North East Regional Centre of National Fishery Development Board, Guwahati - Ashim Kumar Bora also participated in a virtual programme organized by Department of Fisheries, Government of India in which union secretary of fisheries department, JN Swain (IAS) virtually interacted with Haren Chandra Bora, the chief executive officer of Ankur Minpalon Samobai Somitee. Significantly, during the day, Sushil Kumar Nath, district fisheries officer, ceremonially laid the foundation stone of a Fish Feed Mill and a piggery unit sanctioned by National Fishery Development Board under the entrepreneurship model project in the site of Ankur Minpalon Samobai Somitee's integrated fish farm at Rahdhola pothar near Kakomari village. It is noteworthy to mention that Ankur Minpalon Samobai Somitee has been selected for a national project under PMMSY by the National Fishery Development Board. Officials from Nagaon district fisheries office as well as North East Regional Centre of NFDB, Guwahati and officials of State Bank of India, Nagaon Branch graced the occasion as invitees, a release added.
