The 57th college foundation day celebrated at Dhing College

Bureau Report, Nagaon, July 23: In a joint venture, alumni association and college students union body of Dhing College celebrated the 57th college foundation day with a day-long programme at the college on Wednesday last. The programme was initiated with unfurling the college flag by Dr Biman Hazarika, principal of the college during which NCC cadets of the college displayed the guard of honour and also garlanded the statue of the founder principal of the college Prof and noted Assamese litterateur Pradeep Saikia. During the programme, the organizers felicitated 6 former general secretaries of students' union body with college momentos. Similarly, the organizers also felicitated 10 meritorious and successful students who cleared HS Final Examination this year with flying colours. Besides, college union body also distributed monetary assistance in cash among 4 poor students of the college in the first phase. The rest of the poor students of the college will be provided the monetary assistance respectively in next phases, a release added. Earlier, the NSS Unit of the college carried out a massive tree plantation drive in the college campus too under CM Special scheme.
