Guwahati, July 11: Jayanta Mallabaruah, Minister SEED interacted with the training providers (TP's) at ASDM office today. The minister discussed various issues like relevant job roles, skill gap study, district wise employment demand analysis and other relevant issues. "Assam needs to become a hub of skilled people in the coming years," said the Minister. The Minister lamented that a good number of youth have to leave their native place as they do not find suitable job roles as per their skills sets in their own places. Therefore he asked to emphasize on upgrading skills of youth based on local requirements. He cited examples of the bell metal industry of Sarthebari, firecrackers industry of Barpeta and other local cottage industries of Assam giving employment to thousands. The Minister also received feedback from the training providers in form of suggestions or grievances and assured to resolve them immediately. B Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary SEED and Ankur Jain, MD ASDM were also present during the interactive session.
