ASSP executive meeting held

Anjan Baskota, Biswanath Chariali, July 15: The executive meeting of Biswanath district committee of Assam Sankhyalghu Sangram Parishad (ASSP) was held at hotel Lee Palace here on Thursday with Hakim Sikdar, president of Biswanath district committee in the chair. Abdul Rahman and Aman Khan conducted the proceedings of the meeting wherein a series of resolutions were taken. A number of new members including Saiful Islam, Muhibur Rahman, Mostafijur Rahman, Abdul Khayer, Iman Ali, Faridul Islam along with others joined the ASSP. The meeting was attended by Md. Ali Khalifa, Nazir Ahmed, Jakir Hossain Sarkar, Safiqul Islam, Mofidul Islam along with other central members. The executive meeting demanded the state government and the department concerned to finalize the boundary of the sixth addition of KNP (Kaziranga National Park) immediately. It also demanded compensation for the people who were evicted from the adjoining areas of KNP.
