Govt. will take steps to make MSSV as big as possible: Education minister

Gouri Prasad Sarmah, Nagaon, 16 June: “The atmosphere of the university is beautiful. We, the govt. will give more land to the university if necessary” -- attending at the Main campus of the university here at Raidangia, Nagaon Education Minister of Assam Dr. Ranoj Pegu has commented. Dr. Pegu was warmly welcomed by Babul Bora, Pradhan Sampadak of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha and Director (Finance & Planning) and Dr. Mrinal Kumar Borah, Registrar of the University. In the welcome address, Babul Bora highly appreciated the financial assistance provided by the Govt. of Assam to the university and its strong role in infrastructure development. Attending the meeting as the Chief Guest Dr. Pegu announced that the state government is planning to dig at least 3000 sarubor in Assam, in every district of the state it will be 75 under the Amrit Sarovar scheme as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on the occasion on 75th anniversary of Indian independence.
He suggested the University construct the Sourbor following the technique and model of ponds dug by the Ahom Sargadew. He also said that he is coming for inspection of the location of the Sarubor allotted to the Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya. While observing the construction of the university buildings, he has suggested completing the construction works within the stipulated times. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Circle Officer, Block Dev. Officer, D.D.O etc., Members of the Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha, Registrar along with the officials of the University.
