BSF foiled attempts of smuggling – seized 6000 yaba tablets

Guwahati, Oct 3: The BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier during different operations against trans-border crimes, affected seizure of 6000 Yaba tablet, 224 bottles Phensedyl, 5.250 Kg  Ganja and apprehended 04 Bangladesh National  on Indo–BD International border on October 2nd and 3rd. On specific intelligence input, on October 2, at about 1255 hrs, the troops of Border Outpost Khurshahat of 38 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier seized 6000 Nos Yaba tablet worth Rupees 30,00000/-, while consignment  was being attempted to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh. The seized Yaba tablets have been handed over to P.S- Sahibganj, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) for further legal action. Further in another operation on October 2. 04 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the troops of BOP Dharla of 129 BN under SHQ Coochbehar, while crossing the Indo-BD International Border. In other operations the vigilant troops under the aegis of BSF Guwahati Frontier seized 224 bottles of prohibited cough syrup and 5.250 Kg Ganja on the Indo-BD border while attempting to smuggle to Bangladesh. Keeping in view of the vulnerability of the border, heightened activities of drug trafficker and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans- border crimes including drug trafficking & illegal  trans-border crimes and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes.
