Biswanath Chariali, Sept 13: The Dakhin Chariali regional committee of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) submitted memorandum to the education minister of Assam through the office of the deputy commissioner, Biswanath on Monday with a demand to increase intake capacity in Biswanath College for admission into HS and BA courses. Due to the limited seat capacity, the Biswanath College being the only college of the entire area is unable to provide admissions to all the students who have passed out the HS and HSLC examination this year. If the seat capacity of Biswanath College increases, then a large number of students can opt for higher education at their doorstep. The student’ body demanded that the education minister look into the educational issue of the student fraternity and to provide a helpful hand in this regard. The programme was attended by Jatin Bora, president, Mridusman Bhuyan, Sourav Bora, Ashim Bharali, Hirakjyoti Hazarika along with others.
