NAGAON, July 27: A wanted ATM burglar named Dilwara Hussain was shot at and injured by police firing at Jamunamukh in Hojai district in the wee hours today. Sources claimed that Hojai police arrested Hussain in connection with two recent ATM theft cases from Nakhuti area under Lanka PS on Monday last.
Based on his statement, police took him to Chengjurai village under Jamunamukh to pick up one of his associates. When a police team reached near an open field, Dilwara Hussain tried to flee from police and getting no option to surrender him to the police, police finally shot at his legs and injured him, sources claimed. Significantly, in the police firing, Hussain sustained bullet injury on both of his legs. Meanwhile police immediately admitted him in Nagaon BP Civil Hospital for urgent treatment, sources added further.
