Trio Begins 4,000-Km Cycle Ride from Bajali to Kedarnath

A Correspondent, Bajali: In a remarkable display of commitment to health and environmental conservation, three young men from Assam have set out on an ambitious 4,000-kilometre bicycle journey from Pathsala to Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand. Their mission: to promote the benefits of yoga, tree plantation, and a pollution-free lifestyle. The journey began from a Shiv temple near Bhattadev University in Pathsala, Bajali district, just ahead of International Yoga Day, lending special relevance to their cause. The trio—Himangshu Sarma (27) from Pathsala, Rupam Gogoi (34) from Merapani in Golaghat, and Sumit Das (19) from Tezpur—are carrying banners and messages advocating yoga, afforestation, and eco-conscious living. “We want to inspire people, especially the youth, to embrace yoga, plant more trees, and work towards a cleaner, greener future,” said Himangshu Sarma. “Air pollution is a growing concern. Through this journey, we aim to spread awareness and encourage small but impactful changes.” Their route will take them across several Indian states, where they plan to engage with local communities by conducting yoga demonstrations, planting saplings, and holding awareness campaigns on sustainable living and reducing plastic use. The journey will culminate at the Kedarnath temple, a spiritually significant destination nestled in the Himalayas, symbolizing their message of unity between physical endurance, environmental responsibility, and inner peace. The initiative has already garnered praise for its grassroots activism and commitment to a healthier planet.
