Staff Reporter, Tezpur, August 12: Acting on tip off Sonitpur Police recovered a huge case of arms and ammunition from the backyard of a late NDFB cadre at Batachipur-Bilachiguri area under Dhekiajuli PS in Sonitpur District today in the morning. The Ex- NDFB cadre who has already expired was known as Law alias Lal in the area. Police said that as he died before his surrender prior to his organization’s treaty with the government he might keep the recovered case of ammunition buried in the backyard of his home. “However on receiving valid input regarding the presence of the ammunition in the area we rushed to the spot and started excavating the area and recovered 5 Indian hand grenades, 5 Chinese grenades, 5 numbers of detonators, 4 automatic pistols and 1 revolver.” Additional SP, Sonitpur, Madhurima Das said.
