Baihata Chariali: As part of the ambitious scheme to open 38 new secondary schools of the Government of Assam, a model school was inaugurated at Kamalpur in Kamrup today by the Minister of Environment and Forests and Guardian Minister of Kamrup Chandra Mohan Patowary. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Model School, the Minister thanked The Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for taking such a step 75 years after Independence for the development of the education sector of the state and model schools in villages and tea garden areas. He said that imparting quality education will benefit the students. From now on students from poor families will also be able to study in government schools in English medium under CBSE just like private schools, he added. The Minister said that there is a need for concerted efforts of teachers, students, parents and everyone in the society to make model schools a success. Kamalpur LAC MLA Diganta Kalita, Inspector of Schools in Kamrup district Apurba Thakuria, Rangia Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dipan Barman and others attended the event.
