OIL Lakshya Development League concludes

Staff Reporter, Duliajan, April 21: OIL successfully concluded the Closing Ceremony of OIL Lakshya-Development League, under the aegis OIL’s flagship sports intervention ‘OIL Lakshya’ at Duliajan on April 20. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest, Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE, OIL, Rajeev Baruah, ED (HR and Admin), OIL, Swadhin Dekaraja, International Footballer, Arun Borthakur, National Footballer, senior OIL officials, other dignitaries of Assam Football Association and District Sports Authority, State footballers of Assam, rural coaches, media persons and budding players from across OIL’s operational areas of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo and Sivasagar districts. In his address, Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE, OIL, expressed OIL’s pride in being a part of this noble initiative that promotes young football talents from the region. He added that the OIL Lakshya flagship programme would continue to extend support for providing professional coaching to football players and upskilling them. The semi - final and final matches of Under-13 (Boys) and Under-15 (Boys and Girls) were played at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan. In the final match, U-15 category boys, Deohall Football Academy from Tinsukia district bagged the winning trophy while the Jadu Shyam Football Coaching Centre from Dibrugarh district declared winners in the under U-15 girls. In the U-13 Boy’s category, Joypur Tarun Sangha team from Dibrugarh district bagged the winner trophy. Later during the closing ceremony, Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE, OIL, ceremoniously handed over the prizes to the winning teams.
