Raju Chutia may be inspirational for many

Papu Baruah, Dhakuakhana, November 30: Orange cultivation may also be a good source of income in the present scenario where unemployment is taking a serious form. Raju Chutia, son of Tankeshwar and Himeshwari Chutia inhabitant of Kaupatni village under Dhakuakhana sub-division, has shown the way that one can become self-employed through agriculture with concentration, patience and determination. With his educational qualification he could have waited for a government service, but instead of that he set an example by involving himself as a farmer. Raju Chutia, a budding and self motivated farmer is cultivating oranges on about 5 bighas of land using scientific methods. Currently earning Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 per annum and the percentage of income is increasing year by year. Apart from that Raju has been encouraging many farmers in rural areas to engage themselves in cultivation by using modern and scientific facilities. He is also guiding them about the government initiatives, facilities as well as support provided by Assam Agricultural University. In addition, he has planted varieties of hybrid pineapple, coconut, banana, mango, jackfruit, and different types of vegetables etc. Raju Chutia has become an ideal youth for our society as well as the new generation.
