Elocution at Biswanath College on Lachit Borphukan

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, November 21: Biswanath College, a premier higher educational institution of Assam has undertaken a series of programmes to commemorate the 400th Birth Anniversary of the legendary general Lachit Borphukan. An elocution competition was organized by the History department today on Lachit Borphukan. Dr Chinta Mani Sharma, Principal of the college inaugurated the competition and lauded the initiative of the history department. Bandana Gogoi, head of the department explained in detail about the necessity of organizing this event. Leena Hazarika, HoD, Political Science and Hem Kumar Gautam,HoD, Nepali graced the occasion as judges. Safikul Islam begged the first position while Shruti Agasti and Deepjyoti Timsina hold the second and third positions respectively. Harishna Das was awarded with a consolation prize by the jury.
