Dr. BBCI and MSSV signed MoU for Cancer Biology

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, November 23: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. B. Barua Cancer Institute (BBCI) and Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV) in a special ceremonial way held at the conference hall of BBCI, Guwahati today. The MoU was signed by Director of BBCI Dr. Amal Chandra Kataki and Dr. Shekhar Knt Sarkar; Dy Registrar (Admin.) of the University in presence of Deputy Director Academic, Deputy Director Administration, Senior officers and professors of BBCI, Vice-Chancellor of MSSV Prof. Mridul Hazarika, HoD Dept. of Law Dr. Bimal Baishya, HoD dept. of Social Work Dr. Dipshikha Carpenter and PRO Gouri Prasad Sarmah and others. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Amal Chandra Kataki, Director, BBCI said, today is a historic day for the new academic program for cancer biology which will definitely bridge the gap of employment generation as well as to mitigate the problem of cancer disease in the society specially for northeastern region for which as a measures to ensure that the educational exchange between the two institutions is carried out. The program was attended by Prof. Mridul Hazarika, Vice-Chancellor of MSSV tendered his best wishes to the entire BBCI family for giving their best since last 50 years and service to the nation. Dr. Hazarika also mentioned the new aspects of National Education Policy and under which parity two institutes will launch M.Sc and PhD courses in Cancer Biology. Msc and PhD in cancer biology with very limited intake capacity will be started from the year 2023 with joint collaboration among the university professors and BBCI professors.
