Awareness programme on Dolphin Conservation held

Staff Reporter, Chhaygaon, October 14: An awareness programme on Dolphin Conservation was held at "Kulsi Youth Club" in Kulsi area of Kamrup district on October 13. It was organized with the initiative of Kulshi Forest Department Office of West Kamrup Forest Division and Collaboration with Bonyabondhu, a painting competition was also held in order to raise awareness about Dolphin among the childrens and a discussion meeting was also held to make local people aware about Dolphin Conservation. Prizes were given away to the awardees of the painting competition in the meeting and also discussed the issues like importance and necessity of conservation of Dolphin and its habitat Kulshi River, various sustainable livelihood sources such as organic farming, tourism, cottage industries etc with the public. A leaflet was also distributed by team Bonyabondhu to raise awareness among the people who were present there .Various dignitaries as well officials from the concerned department also graced the occasion.
