JBF conducted dAnti Rabies vaccination drive in Guwahati

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, September 26: JBF (INDIA) TRUST successfully conducted a Free Anti Rabies Vaccination Drive in North Guwahati Municipality area. On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2022, JBF is taking initiative in administering Anti-Rabies vaccines to stray and community dogs of all across North-East to achieve the milestone of zero deaths by 2030 as per the appeal of World Health Organization (WHO). As per information the dog population in North Guwahati has recently increased significantly which has resulted in menace causing fear amongst the locals due to frequent street dog bites. Upon receiving the information JBF intervened into this matter immediately and responded by reaching North Guwahati and administering Anti-Rabies Vaccines to the street dogs with the cooperation of North Guwahati Municipal Board. The areas covered were in and around North Guwahati Municipal Board office, Office of the Deputy Commissioner and IIT Guwahati. Dr. Sashanka Sekhar Dutta, Founder and Managing Trustee of JBF (INDIA) Trust states that North Guwahati is significantly developing and the increasing dog population may create conflict between human and animals in coming days. So, JBF immediately intervened in this regard where human and animal can coexist. On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2022, JBF is setting up free Anti-Rabies Vaccine camps across Guwahati and other places across the Northeast of India from September 25 to 28. JBF will also be conducting a Street Play across Guwahati to create awareness towards rabies.
