Inter-College Youth Festival concluded at THB college

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, September 24: The Inter-College Youth Festival (East Zone) of Gauhati University was held at THB college with a three-day programme that concluded on Friday evening. A total of six hundred students from 26 colleges under the East Zone of Gauhati University participated in various events including dance, song, drama, literature, debate and fine arts. On the first day, the institutional flag of Gauhati University was hoisted by Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakaty, secretary of Sports Council of GU, and Dr. Ajit Hazarika, principal of THB college hoisted the institutional flag of the host college. Similarly, college Principals including Dr. Chinta Mani Sharma, Dr. Shukdev Adhikari, Dr. Palashmani Saikia, Dr. Jyoti Kamal Hazarika hoisted the flags of Biswanath College, LOKD College, Darrang College, Tezpur College respectively beside other guide teachers. The concluding ceremony was attended by Dr. Ranjan Kalita, principal of Rangapara College, Surjya Goswami, Mrinal Kanti Medhi, Kajal Bora along with other dignitaries. Darrang College remained in the first position for holding the highest number of prizes while Nowgong College and Biswanath College satisfied with second and third positions respectively.
