State I&PR officers executive body formed

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, August 30: Election for new state I&PR officers executive body was held on August 30. The election was held for the portfolios like president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer where Dina Nath Loing and Mridupaban Barua elected as president and treasurer respectively without contest. Similarly, Angshuman Mahilary was elected as vice president, Iftikhar Zaman elected as general secretary and Jayanta Maut elected as joint secretary. Moreover the general council selected Bangkim Bhagawati, Swakhar Deka, Manjurani Deka, Sikha Saikia, Chumpi Chutia and Dibyajyoti Sharma as members of the executive body. It is to be noted that Hemanta Pegu and N. Nanglai joined the election process as returning officer and presiding officer respectively. A total 95.71% vote casted in the election.
