Lecture Session on Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign held

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, July 26: "As youths are the future ambassadors of the nation, you have the authority to make your life beautiful or make your life miserable. Be a responsible citizen and stay away from the harmful substances to lead a happy and healthy life", said by Hon'ble Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi. Marking the “60 Days Anti-Drug, Tobacco and Liquor Awareness Campaign", Byatikram MASDO organized a distinguished lecture session addressed by Prof. Jagdish Mukhi with the students and recovery addicts on July 26 at ITA Machkhowa, Guwahati with an aim to educate and spread awareness about the substance abuse among the youths. Students from various educational institutions took part in the distinguished lecture session. The program was graced by many esteemed dignitaries such as Hiren Chandra Nath, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Special Branch); Ghanshyam Dhanuka, Industrialist and Social Activist; Ankur Jain, IPS, Mission Director, Assam Skill Development Mission; Shiladitya Dev, Chairman, Assam Linguistics Minority Development Board, Govt. of Assam; Dr. Sangeeta Tripathi, Director, NERIM Group of Institutions; Eminent Singer Manisha Hazarika and many others. Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, President of Byatikram MASDO said that “We are doing our best to support our Hon'ble Chief Minister's plan to build a drug-free Assam. The campaign has been conducted for the last 53 days and will be successfully completed in 60 days.The campaign has already been conducted in various educational institutions, central jails and various organizations in Assam. We urge everyone to come forward and cooperate in this great cause in the near future." The program was then proceeded with a music therapy session by Anubhuti Kakoty Goswami followed with a counseling session with the students by Jahnabi Sharma and Dixeeta Garg, Counseling Psychologist and Founder of Gentle Blooming. It was then forwarded with lightening off the ceremonial lamp by Prof. Mukhi and the esteemed dignitaries. Further, the program was taken ahead with a signature painting done by Renowned Artist Rabin Bar, signed by Mukhi Ji in the canvas. A small felicitation was done by Prof. Mukhi to the supporters who has been a constant support throughout the campaign such as Dr. Diganta Halder, Principal, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti; Sanjay Aditya Singh, Chairman, Jettwings Group of Institutions; Alakananda Das, Social Entrepreneur, President of WICCI India Bangladesh Business Council; Dr. Karabi Bezbaruah, Astro Vastu & Numero Consultant; Dr. Kripesh Ranjan Sarmah, Senior Consultant Pulmonologist; Dr.Mainu Devi, Professor & Writer; Naresh Jain, Entrepreneur & Social Activist; Rajiv Kumar Choudhary, Entrepreneur; Siddhartha Pratim Dutta, Motivational Speaker and Smt. Ranjita Pegu, Entrepreneur. The program was then enlightened with the valuable words shared by our few esteemed guests. The session was then taken over by Key Speaker Prof. Mukhi, Honb’le Governor of Assam addressing the students about the harmful impacts of drugs and other harmful substances that has threatened the lives of many people especially the youths. He also advised the students to focus on their goals and come out with flying colors and make the nation proud.
