Naharkatia, February 26: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping &
Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal attended the 91st Annual
convention of Sankardeva Convention here today. The Union Minister addressed
the huge gathering at the Bagmibar Koka Nilamani Phukan Samnway field where he
said that “Bhakti is the source of power & peace.” The gathering was also

Daimary, Honourable Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly; Kamalakanta
Gogoi Baap, Padadhikar, Shrimanta Sankardeva Sangha; Babul Bora Baap, Chief Editor; Hrishikesh
Goswami, Chief Secretary, Assam Children’s Literary Society; Bikul Deka,
Chairman, Assam Petro Chemicals Limited; Taranga Gogoi, MLA; and Subhash
Dutta, Vice Chairman, Assam Housing Board among others. Speaking
at the august gathering, Sarbananda
Sonowal said, “Gurujona laid
the foundation for the socio cultural foundation of our society. We must
instrument the invaluable teachings, creations & philosophy of Gurujona and
use Bhakti, peace & unity to build our nation into a stronger one. The
immense craft of Gurujona is a source of rejuvenation for all of us. We must
commit ourselves from this pious platform of Shrimanta Sankardeva Sangha to
preserve & spread the message of universal brotherhood as envisaged in
ageless creations of Gurujona.”
