2 arrested with illegal teak wood in Srirampur

A Correspondent, Gossaigaon, June 15: Simultapu police on Wednesday seized a large quantity of teak woods from Assam-Bengal inter state border Srirampur from a truck and apprehended two persons in this connection. Police sources informed that based on the specific input from a reliable sources a raid was carried out in Srirampur NH-31 (C) inter-state border and seized one truck loaded with teak woods bearing registration number HR-73/A-6769 which was heading towards Kolkata in West Bengal from Barpeta, Assam.

Two person have been arrested so far by the police identified as Zahid Khan driver and Mustaq, handiman of the truck both hails from Haryana.
